Acoustic Instruments in Electronic Music Workshop

From electronic to electro-acoustic music: Learn how to incorporate acoustic instruments in your electronic music production to add variety, organic touch and more means of expression.

We’ll cover various recording and amplifying techniques, creating and using samples, processing acoustic sounds with hardware and DAW and integrating them into a modular synthesizer setup.

This workshop will prove that you don’t have to be a virtuoso to be able to embrace the beauty, texture and character of traditional instruments in your music! The instruments and gear used for demonstration include a harp, KOMA Elektronik Field Kit series, Ableton Live, modular synthesizers and effect pedals.

Modular Video Synth Workshop

This workshop will be a hands-on experience (with guidance) in the use of Modular Videosynths from LZX Industries, Syntonie & other designers. It’s intended for beginners & the curious, intermediates & also advanced users.

There will be a variety of setups to try out & explore that will highlight different use cases like Camera Feedback, Audio Reactivity, photos as a starting material, real time video signal processing whether from a DVD or video camera, geometries. No previous skills are required, no video editing on a computer for instance.

Live Performance Workshop w/ drusnoise

Live Electronic Workshop: Performing live with modular synths, drum machines, samplers, and more

Whether you are new to performing live, want to deepen your connection with your audience, or learn how to make your bass and kicks punch on a club sound system , this workshop will give you the concepts and practical tools you need to build and perform a killer live set.

Learn how to get the most from your gear in a live setting. Dive into storytelling in performance, set design and structure, mixing and loudness for live sets, gear selection and FX, audio and MIDI routing, soundcheck tips, adding video, and more.

For techno, ambient, experimental, and everything in between. Workshop by drusnoise, live techno and sound art performer based in Berlin.

WORKSHOPS IN BERLIN

KOMA Elektronik has always been about more than just creating awesome music instruments. At KOMA, we love to share our enthusiasm and knowledge about music electronics with our community, and facilitate possibilities for other music aficionados to exchange their experiences, tips and ideas. In the past, we ran a very successful workshop series at our shop and community space Common Ground, and we built on this tradition at our new space in Wedding. 

Come and take part in one or more of our workshops! The topics range from the basics of sound synthesis and music electronics to soldering and building your own electronic music instruments and gadgets such as a radio transmitter or a KOMA Elektronik product. We will be adding more workshops as the Kommunity will grow.
